Based on the award-winning films ‘Zog’ and ‘Zog and the Flying Doctors’ and books by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler, BBC Children's and Education and Magic Light Pictures present Zog (52 x 11’), a brand new CGI animated comedy adventure series for pre-school audiences about caring for yourself, for others and for the weird and wonderful world around you.

About the speakers:

SARAH SCRIMGEOUR - SERIES DIRECTOR

Sarah Scrimgeour is a Cape Town-based animation director and artist, originally from Johannesburg, South Africa. She studied at The Animation School in Woodstock before beginning her career in narrative-driven animation.

She joined Triggerfish Animation Studios in 2014, where she collaborated extensively with Magic Light Pictures across a number of internationally acclaimed productions. Her early work spanned modelling and compositing on films including Stick Man, Revolting Rhymes, The Highway Rat and Zog.

In 2019, she served as art director on The Snail and the Whale, which received two BAFTA awards. She went on to co-direct Superworm, followed by Tabby McTat, which won an International Emmy Award.

Sarah's work is rooted in character-led storytelling, with a focus on warmth, humour and emotional resonance.

She is currently series director on Zog, continuing her long-standing creative involvement in the Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler universe.

VICI KING - PRODUCER

After graduating from a BA(Hons) in Television Production at Bournemouth University in 2000 Vici began working for HIT Entertainment and building her career in children's animation. She worked in development, identifying new projects and talent to work with across the industry. Then in 2008 Vici joined Blue-Zoo Animation to produce the series Kerwhizz, Alphablocks, Get Squiggling and Tree-Fu Tom before leaving to raise a family in 2011.

Vici freelanced for a range of production companies before joining Magic Light Pictures in 2017 to manage Animation Series Development with a vision to bring the same high quality, life enhancing storytelling of the Magic Light Specials to long form pre-school series. Vici developed and produced 2 series of the award winning Pip and Posy for Sky Kids and Channel 5 Milkshake! Plus, spin off educational Pip and Posy series Let's Learn and two successful cinema releases.
